Description
Fennel Seeds / Saunf (سونف)
Fennel seeds come from Foeniculum vulgare. Common names include Fennel Seeds, Fennel, Saunf and Sonf. Their sweet, anise-like aroma brings flavour to both sweet and savoury recipes.
Cooking uses
Add to chai or a simple culinary infusion, biscuits, breads, curries, achar and homemade seed mixes. Lightly crush before adding to recipes to release aroma. These are plain fennel seeds rather than sugar-coated saunf.
Benefits in cooking
Fennel seeds add a sweet aroma to tea, baking and spice mixes. Lightly crushing them helps release their flavour. This listing describes food uses and does not promise relief from digestive problems or other health conditions.
