Traditional Uses & Research
- Kidney stones and urinary health: traditionally used in urinary preparations. Small human studies have explored urinary mineral changes and stone outcomes; clinical evidence remains limited. It is not a guaranteed stone-dissolving treatment.
- Liver-related traditional use: used in traditional herbal systems for liver complaints. Laboratory and animal findings do not establish a treatment for hepatitis or other liver disease.
- Digestive preparations: traditionally included in herbal preparations for digestive complaints; reliable clinical evidence is limited.
- Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory research: extracts have been investigated in laboratory and animal studies. These findings do not prove the same benefits from this dried herb in people.
